Product Details

DYNACIDE-C TABS is ideal for travel/vacations, camping/ outdoor sport, adventure racing, first-aid and survival kits, food preparations, and emergency preparedness.

How/When to use: This product is recommended for disinfecting raw or pre-treated (settled, coagulated and/or filtered) water supplies intended for use as drinking water for humans. The source of water to be treated may be a river, lake, well, cistern or similar system temperatures as low as 4°C.

Prior to the addition of the sanitizer, remove all suspended material by filtration or by allowing it to settle to the bottom. Decant the clarified, contaminated water to a clean, container before adding the sanitizer.

Add one tablet to 800 litre of clear, room temperature (20°C / 68°F) water free of organic debris. For dirty, cloudy, stained and/or cold (4°C/39°F) water, double dosage to two tablets. Mix well for at least 10 minutes, leave to stand for 30 minutes before drinking.

Each DYNACIDE-C TABS tablet contains a measured dose of Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate, commonly referred to as NaDCC. When added to water DYNACIDE-C TABS dissolve to release a measured dose of hypochlorous acid (free available chlorine) that is universally recognized as a safe and effective water disinfectant.

Unlike other water purification treatments such as Iodine or Chlorine Dioxide, DYNACIDE-C TABS will not colour the water or leave an unpalatable taste. NaDCC works very differently from traditional chlorine, and as such, it is very difficult to taste any chlorine taste. In fact, there is usually less of a chlorine taste in water treated with DYNACIDE-C TABS than there is in any municipal tap water.

DYNACIDE-C TABS have been tested and approved by SABS and NRCS. DYNACIDE-C TABS also conform to WHO Specification (The New Emergency Health Kit 98), International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement specification (Code: Type 21.1), UNICEF specification (Codes: S 1588350 / S 158355 / S 0003245) and NATO Stock Number (NSN) 6850-99-225- 1833).

DYNACIDE-C TABS take 1-3 minutes to completely dissolve once place into water and leave no residue or sediment. Length of time may vary depending on water temperature. In most situations, water treated with DYNACIDE-C TABS is safe to drink after 30 minutes. In some temperatures and conditions, 60 minutes might be recommended. Please see the dosage chart included with each product for more information.
